About us
Wycombe Photographic Society is a group of enthusiasts, from beginners to experts, young and older, male and female, whose common interest is photography. The activities of the Club embrace all types of still photography: digital and prints in both colour and monochrome.
Like many groups the last few months have been challenging in many ways. We are no different and as such we have had to re-structure the club and take a slightly different direction to evolve into a successful Society which was founded in 1938.
Some of the changes are drastic but the fundamental objectives are to support the development of photographers and to share and enjoy each other's personal work in an environment which is fun, relaxed and collaborative.
For many years the programmes of many clubs such as WPS have been driven by competitions which in the past was an opportunity to see work from other photographers within the club and from outside. Today we are surrounded by images via websites and social media, so are competitions as relative as they once were or are they detrimental to the development of photographers? However, it is important for photographers to show their work and receive feedback which we will provide. Our programme will be based with non-competitive themed assignments, speakers in their specialist fields and workshops all to help spread knowledge and techniques.
CHANGES MADE FOR 2022 - 2023
• New venue for our meetings: Hughenden Valley Village Hall (Large Hall).
• Meetings to be held on the 1st, 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month.
• Non-competitive themed assignments.
• Members work critique and presentation.
• Autumn Exhibition at Hughenden Valley Village Hall (Small Hall).
• To provide mentoring for those working towards a distinction such as from the RPS.

Our new season kicks off on Wednesday the 14th September at 8pm, an informal night and a catch up with those we haven't seen for a while. Why not call in to see our Autumn Exhibition being held over the 15th & 16th October and see some of our member's latest work.
All are welcome and for the year 2023-2024 an adult full membership is only £45.00.
